"This study uses data from the Canadian Social Survey to explore trends in exposure to and detection of online misinformation, and how this impacts trust. It examines the sources and platforms Canadians use to access news and information, how frequently they report encountering misinformation, and whether they perceive it to be increasingly difficult to distinguish between true and false information. In addition, the paper analyzes how experiences with misinformation relate to confidence in the media and levels of interpersonal trust"--Overview of the study, page 1.
