"The Canada/US International Boundary on Georges Bank (5Z) and in the Gulf of Maine (5Y) is considered to be the southern and western stock limit for the 4VWX5 pollock management unit. In July 2009, GOMAC requested that DFO Science undertake a unilateral investigation on the transboundary nature of pollock to determine if there is any scientific evidence which supports the use of a combined Canada/USA management unit (i.e. SA5&6+4Xopqrs5) or separate management units (status quo) for each nation. This document summarizes information from several sources, including published manuscripts on various aspects of pollock life history, recent stock assessments, Canadian and USA commercial fisheries data, as well as data collected from DFO and NMFS bottom trawl surveys. …"--Abstract, page vi.
