This report presents Environment Canada guidelines for conducting environmental assessments of marine shellfish aquaculture projects. Topics include requirements for selecting and designing a shellfish growing operation; preparation, construction, operation, and maintenance of the site; possible decommissioning of the facility; how the environment affects aquaculture activities; and environmental impacts and mitigation measures.
