Chief Review Services conducted an audit of the security clearance process in order to assess the risk management practices, to assess controls in place to ensure a thorough and consistent application of clearance requirements, and to determine whether the clearance program was operating as intended. The objectives of the audit were to: assess the risk management strategies employed in the development and conduct of the clearance process; assess the controls in place to ensure a consistent and thorough application of screening and clearance requirements; and determine whether the clearance program is functioning as intended.
