Submissions of the Government of Canada on the proposal for a pre-appointment income study / Anne M. Turley and Kirk G. Shannon.: J42-7/2016E-PDF

"The Government requests that the 2015-16 Quadrennial Commission undertake a study of the pre-appointment income of sitting judges appointed by the Federal Government between 2004 and 2014. The resulting data would be relevant to and highly probative of a central question before the Commission; namely, whether the judicial salary is adequate to attract outstanding candidates to the judiciary. The study would also be responsive to specific requests for data made by both the 2003 and 2007 Commissions"--Overview.
