Liquid and gas chromatographic determination of sulfonylurea herbicides metsulfuron methyl and ethametsulfuron methyl in water and soil samples / by Hing-Biu Lee ... [et al.].: En13-5/97-97E-PDF

"The use of sulfonylurea herbicides to control target weeds is increasing in recent years. Because of their persistence and high phytotoxicity, transport of these herbicides by air and water may have adverse effects to non-target plants, such a simpairment in crop production or causing death of plants. Metsulfuron methyl and ethametsulfuron methyl are two of these herbicides registered for use in the prairies and other parts of Canada. Analytical methods are developed in this work to measure residues of these compounds in water and sediment samples collected in spraying experiments. T'his study is part of a collaborative research project with the National Wildlife Research Centre of the Canadian Wildlife Service"--Management perspective.
