Rivers, research and sediment / by T. Milne Dick. : En13-5/85-07E-PDF

"An outline of the controlling independent variables for the sediment transport by rivers is given. Coarse sediment research is required to determine how rivers react to change. Fine and washload sediment is a major factor in environmental quality and transport of organic and non-organic pollutants. The thrust of both research programs should be to develop models for use in managing change. Relationships with other data gathering activities and quality control activities are illustrated. Finally a set of research priorities are proposed"--Abstract, p. ii.
