"The Government of Canada and the Government of the Republic of El Salvador, hereinafter referred to as the “Contracting Parties”: being parties to the Convention on International Civil Aviation, done at Chicago on 7 December 1944; desiring to ensure the highest degree of safety and security in international air transportation; recognizing the importance of international air transportation in promoting trade, tourism and investment; desiring to promote their interests in respect of international air transportation; and desiring to conclude an agreement on air transportation, supplementary to the said Convention; have agreed on air transport"--Page 1.
