"The aftermath of wildfires often brings financial hardship and emotional distress, including a deep sense of loss tied to environmental destruction and cultural disconnection (Public Safety Canada (PSC), 2024; Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), 2024). Wildfires can disrupt traditional ways of life, cultural practices and access to traditional activities such as hunting, fishing, trapping and gathering.
